TESTAMENT Guitarist ALEX SKOLNICK Interviewed

Valerie Bastien, a contributing editor to The Voice Connection and RockSource360, recently conducted an interview with TESTAMENT/ALEX SKOLNICK TRIO guitarist Alex Skolnick. The chat is now available for streaming using the audio player below.

Canadian guitarist Glen Drover (ex-MEGADETH, KING DIAMOND, EIDOLON) will fill in for Skolnick on TESTAMENT's tour with MEGADETH and EXODUS, which will kick off on March 1 in Spokane, Washington and will run through the end of the month. "My buddies in TESTAMENT called me up to see if I could help for the tour, as Alex will be away during this time," Glen wrote on his MySpace page. "It will be great to get back out for a little bit and see all my friends in those bands, as well as the fans, and of course being a part of playing 'The Legacy' album, which has always been one of my faves!"

TESTAMENT will perform its first-ever album, "The Legacy", in its entirety during the month-long trek that will find these thrash titans crisscrossing the nation on the "Rust in Peace" 20th anniversary tour. In this monstrously massive celebration of metal, TESTAMENT felt it was time to throw down the gauntlet and bring people back to the roots of their visceral and vice-tight music, re-invoking songs which helped lay the foundation for a thrash generation. "We wanted to give the fans something different," said vocalist Chuck Billy. "We wanted to play these songs which have not been played since we've been touring [the latest TESTAMENT album] 'The Formation Of Damnation'."

TESTAMENT's highly acclaimed 2008 release, "The Formation Of Damnation", will be reissued in a deluxe tour edition just in time for the upcoming trek. The two-disc edition will include the band's comeback album plus bonus footage of classic tracks and more.
